President’s Award for Special Achievement Conferred – Press Releases

President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has on Saturday evening presented the President’s Award for Special Achievement. The awards were conferred at the official Republic Day function held at Dharubaaruge.
The twenty four honourees including 23 individuals and 1 private organization received medals and certificates of this year’s President’s Award for Special Achievement.

Honorees who were conferred the medal for achieving the highest academic qualification in the Maldives National Qualifications Framework were:

1. Dr. Mariyam Suzana
2. Dr. Mariyam Waseema; and
3. Dr. Fazeela Waheed

The Twenty honourees who achieved the highest in a higher academic course or training course were:

Master’s Degree:

1. Uz. Mohamed Riza
2. Ms. Harisath Mohamed
3. Mr. Ahmed Asim

Postgraduate Diploma:

Special Award was conferred to Dr Imteyaz Mohsin (India) by the President for his outstanding contributions in the field of medicine and healthcare in Maldives.

At the function held this evening, President Yameen conferred the President’s Medal to seven honourees for committing the Quran to memory. They were:

1. Al-Hafiz Ahmed Zahir
2. Al-Hafiz Ahmed Nabeeh
3. Al-Hafiz Naadhih Abdul Hameed
4. Al-Hafiza Shareefa Mohamed Didi
5. Al-Hafiza Fathimath Maisan Saeed
6. Al-Hafiz Ahmed Ahsan; and
7. Al-Hafiz Mohamed Musthafa

Honourees who were conferred the President’s Medal for achieving first place in the world top ten in the 2016 IGCSE and GCE O’level examinations were:

1. Esha Adil Naseem – English as a second language (Aminiya School)
2. Fathimath Shadhin Abdulla – Mathematics (Vaavu Atoll Education Centre)
3. Khadheeja Haisha Shareef – Travel and tourism (Aminiya School)
4. Aminath Risala – English as a second language (Faafu Atoll Bilehdhoo School)
5. Mohamed Azhan Fawaz Shareef – English as a second language (Dharumavantha School); and
6. Raaish Ali Rasheed – Principle of accounts (Majeedhiyya School)

Honourees who were conferred the President’s Medal for achieving first place in the world top ten in the 2017 A’level examinations were:

1. Aishath Hawra – Accounting (Center for Higher Secondary Education)
2. Aishath Malha – Accounting (Center for Higher Secondary Education)
3 Luth Ismail Shafeeq – Accounting (Center for Higher Secondary Education)
4. Mariyam Malsa Lisham – Accounting (Center for Higher Secondary Education)
5. Aishath Ashna Latheef – Business Studies (Center for Higher Secondary Education); and
6. Ali Muhthadee – Accounting (Noonu Atoll Holhudhoo Meynaa School)

Honourees who attained the President’s Scout Badge were:

1. Mohamed Iujaaz Yazeed; and
2. Abdulla Yafis Ahmed

Honouree who attained the President’s Guide Badge was:

1. Mariyam Isha Ahmed

In his speech, President Yameen extended his congratulations and warm wishes to all honourees of this year’s President’s Award for Special Achievement.

At the function this evening, President Yameen launched the official logo and song for the 50th anniversary of the Maldivian Republic.
