The Criminal Court has gone into recess, affective December 16, till the end of the month, the court declared Sunday.
According to the court, even though it would be temporarily halting some hearings, it would still hear remand cases and continue its administrative work.
Superior courts go into recess twice a year. As such, most courts go into recess in June and December.
Currently, the Civil Court, Juvenile Court and the Supreme Court are on recess. While the former two courts are scheduled to resume on Wednesday, the Supreme Court will start hearing cases again on January 10.
