President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the President of Mexico, His Excellency Enrique Peña Nieto, following the earthquake that hit Mexico.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I was deeply grieved to learn about the powerful earthquake that hit Mexico causing the loss of dozens of lives and injury to many more people, as well as extreme destruction to property and infrastructure.”
“During this time of national distress, the Government and people of the Maldives join me in conveying our deepest sympathies to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Mexico, and in particular, to those who were directly affected by this calamity. We wish the ongoing recovery efforts every success.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
