Tourism Minister Moosa Zameer and Ambassador Mohamed Hussain Shareef have met with Sri Lankan opposition lawmaker Namal Rajapaksa.
The son of the former Sri Lankan president tweeted a photo with the pair on Saturday. Both Zameer and Shareef are senior members of the ruling Progressive Party of Maldives.
The meeting comes after criticism of the Sri Lankan government from a senior ruling party lawmaker over the neighbouring island nation “harbouring” exiled opposition politicians.
Exiled former president Mohamed Nasheed, who frequently travels to Colombo, met with Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wikremesinghe earlier this month.
