SEOUL, Sept. 2 (Yonhap) — A North Korean delegation left for Male, the Maldives, on Saturday to attend a regional meeting of the World Health Organization (WHO), the North’s state media reported.
The delegation, led by the communist state’s Public Health Minister Jang Jun-sang, traveled to the capital of the Maldives to attend the 70th meeting of the WHO regional committee for Southeast Asia, the North’s official Korean Central News Agency said in a short dispatch from Pyongyang.
The meeting is scheduled to be held from Sept. 6-10, according to its organizers.
The WHO regional committee for Southeast Asia consists of 11 member states, including Bangladesh, India and Thailand.
