An elderly man who met with an accident in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale last Thursday passed away from his injuries on Friday.
The man of 64 years was riding his motorcycle around sunset on Thursday when a speeding motorbike crashed into him. The speeding driver had fled the scene after abandoning his motorcycle.
The elderly man had suffered serious injuries to his head and legs in the accident. He was unconscious while taken to privately run ADK Hospital in capital Male.
ADK Hospital stated that he passed away on Friday evening while receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
