‘It’s not the right place for a toddler’ Nadia Bartel SLAMS critics who ‘parent shamed’ the AFL WAG for taking a Maldives vacation without two-year-old son Aston

She’s the glamorous AFL WAG who drew criticism on social media this week for not taking her two-year-old son, Aston, with her on a vacation to the Maldives.

And Nadia Bartel has defended her’s and husband Jimmy’s decision to leave their progeny at home, admitting their choice of accommodation wasn’t ‘kid friendly.’

Taking to Instagram on Wednesday, Nadia shared a photo that showed her reuniting with the cherubic two year old.

In a long caption, Nadia gushed about being back in Aston’s company.

‘Finally home with my big boy. he has changed so much in a week (tonnes of new words) and I missed him more than i even imagined,’ Nadia wrote.

She then turned her attention to the keyboard critics who criticised the decision to leave young Aston at home.

‘I have to make a small mention on the parent shaming I received going on holiday without him,’she continued.

‘I totally respect everyone’s parenting choices. You know the right choice for your child and if that means taking them on holiday with you, then hell yes you should.

‘I love going on holidays with Aston and will continue to do so, but the Maldives with its over water bungalows is not the right place for a toddler (in my opinion)…’

‘…that doesn’t mean that we love or care for Aston less than a parent who decides to take their child on every holiday,’ she added.

One fan chimed in with: ‘Don’t worry about small minded people. The bigger picture shows he is well loved and was with people who no doubt love him, while you took some time to come back refreshed and ensure you are both the best parents you can be.’

Another echoed the sentiment with a similar: ‘Aston will have better parents because his mummy and daddy took a break and made sure their relationship got the attention it deserved too.’

‘Wow how do you guys do it. I could not leave my kid behind and go on holiday,’ one follower suggested while another chimed in with: ‘Totally agree with you.

It wasn’t long before Nadia hit back at the pot-shots , writing: ‘So you would never go on a trip without your baby? I miss him like crazy but I think it’s important to have time with just us too.’

She continued her diatribe with: ‘This is the first time we have left him in 2 years, but I don’t need to explain myself to you as I normally don’t reply to fake accounts like yours’.

Nadia also found support, this week from 2DayFM breakfast host Em Rusciano who told Nadia’s critics to ‘eat several bags of d***s.’

‘It actually makes her a better Mother, when you look after yourself first – everyone else who loves and depends on you benefits,’ Em wrote in a fiery Instagram post.
