In an ever-changing world that is becoming more digitized day by day, the tourism industry of the Maldives tirelessly strives to keep up. As the main driving force of the archipelago’s economy, it has become crucial for the hospitality sector to meet the demands of a clientele that prefers “online” more and more. Here to meet this increasing requirement is ROOMIE, the ultimate personalized hotel mobile application to aid the Maldivian hospitality scene to engage its guests on a digital platform.
Already having revolutionized the tourism sectors of hospitality giants such as Malaysia, Thailand, the United States and Canada, ROOMIE is now eyeing the Maldives with major plans to upgrade hospitality providers’ engagement of guests across the archipelago.
ROOMIE gets to work from the moment guests enter your hotel, guest house, resort or what-have-you. The versatile app provides everything from hotel services, information and entertainment to guests, while also obtaining their feedback.
Shedding light on the innovative single platform app, ROOMIE’s Assistant Vice President of Business and Partnership, Fytra Aziz explained that the app is compatible with both iOS and Android, synchronizing with televisions, smartphones, computers, laptops and tablets.
In an interview to Mihaaru from Paradise Island Resort, Fytra stated that ROOMIE’s services include ordering room service online, while its video streaming platform also allows guests to watch a variety of shows including films on any of their preferred devices.
ROOMIE’s Assistant Vice President of Services, Alvin Lee, further declared that the app is also directly beneficial to hospitality providers themselves, such as significantly cutting down technical, maintenance and operational costs. As an example, he explained that ROOMIE can provide online information about promotions and whatnot with a single click to guests, instead of the old-school method of manually delivering printouts to each suite.
The backer we have to thank for bringing ROOMIE to the Maldives is Win Solutions, the local bringer of such “smart solutions” to the tourism industry.
“We’re charging USD4 per room on a monthly basis. Those who apply for ROOMIE can then receive its services to that hotel, resort or guesthouse,” said the company’s Managing Director Mohamed Naseem.
