Maldives would be represented by over two dozen local firms in the upcoming International French Travel Market (IFTM) Top Resa, the archipelago’s main tourism promotion body said Tuesday.
Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC) said 43 representatives from 25 different companies are set to participate in the fair which is an annual multi-segment event bringing together in one place Leisure, Business, Events and Groups at a French and international level.
MMPRC said the ‘extensive’ Maldives stall at the fair slated to be held in Paris from September 26-29 would feature all the ‘flavours’ of Maldives tourism.
The company’s acting managing director Mohamed Haris noted the significance of the French market for Maldives tourism adding that the fair would offer the island nation the opportunity to further enhance its tourism brand.
According to the latest tourism statistics, Maldives had welcomed over 40,000 French tourists last year while so far the number stands at over 26,000 so far this year.
