Maldives Marketing and PR Corporation (MMPRC) is gearing up to promote Maldives at 15 international fairs next year.

According to MMPRC they are set to open Maldivian stalls at the Fitoor Fair scheduled for January.

MMPRC will be partaking in seven out of the 15 fairs which are aimed for consumer and corporate business operating internationally while five fairs out of it will be exclusive to corporate businesses. MMPRC would be promoting Maldives in an international fair with dive as the central theme of it while the Maldives promoting company will participate in two fairs at China.

Although China is one of the main tourist markets to Maldives, the visitors from the region had subsequently declined in the recent 4 years. While China had 265,417 visitors so far this year, last years figure had been at 289,123 for the same time frame.

This is an 8.2% recede in Chinese market which Maldives is trying to compensate through better destination promotion.

Confirmed fairs where MMPRC will promote Maldives.

State has allocated MVR 50 million in the budget for 2018 affirming the apportioned amount for tourism and destination promoting is adequate.
