Milaidhoo Island Maldives
Milaidhoo Island Maldives has once again been distinguished in the 2018 Condé Nast Johansens Awards for Excellence. This is the second consecutive year since opening in November 2016 that the resort has received an award. Created to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across properties, the Awards of Excellence are a trusted mark of quality recognized by consumers and travel professionals alike. In the 2017 awards, Milaidhoo also received Best Beach Resort.
With white beaches, turquoise lagoons and coral-rich waters, Milaidhoo epitomize the true contemporary Maldives. Set in Baa Atoll’s UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, the resort offers activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, kayaking, catamaran cruises, stand-up paddle boarding, open-air meditation and yoga sessions.
The design showcases the traditional history and heritage of the region with custom-made, locally produced elements throughout. For instance, the signature restaurant, Ba’theli, is built in the shape of three traditional wooden sailing boats on stilts over the lagoon. Here, the team of chefs deliver an island influenced menu of locally inspired and sourced dishes at the first modern Maldivian restaurant in the Maldives.
