Maldives Welcomes 100,000th Visitor Since Border Reopening!

The Maldives has welcomed the 100,000th visitor to the sunny side of life since the border reopened from 15th July.

Ms Jasmin Burki from Switzerland was welcomed as the 100,000th visitor to the Maldives earlier today.

Since Maldives reopened borders from 15th July 2020, the destination has continued to witness a steady improvement in its tourist arrivals. With 96,953 tourist arrivals the destination has welcomed a total of 479,800 tourists as of 11th December 2020.

Maldives has extended ‘Split Stay’ for all types of tourist accommodation facilities, allowing tourists to split their stay between resort, hotels, guesthouses and live aboard boats, with prior approval as per split-stay procedure and guideline by the Ministry of Tourism.
