Maldives Liveaboards, Safaris Now Offer In-Vessel PCR Testing

National Boating Association of Maldives (NBAM) has introduced a mechanism that now allows PCR samples to be taken from Liveaboard guests without having to travel to Male’.

The Boating Association has come to an agreement with service providers to take samples from 9 islands; K. Thulusdhoo, Himmafushi, Dhiffushi, Gulhi, Maafushi, ADh. Dhangethi, Dhigurah and Aa. Ulkulhas. NBAM said the procedure was arranged to make it more convenient for guests at safari vessels.

Previously offered at USD 100, PCR test can now be done for Liveaboard guests at the rate of USD 75 per test.

Over 122 safaris have been given the permit by the Ministry of Tourism since Maldives border reopening. Currently, a total of 1023 rooms is operating with 2300 beds.
