The Maldives Airports Company Limited (MACL) operator of the Velana International Airport (VIA) is to lease lounge spaces in the New Seaplane Terminal Building (NSPT) at VIA to interested parties.
The winning parties are required to set up and operate executive lounges on their own in accordance with MACL guidelines and instructions.
Interested parties are to register in the bidding by an expression of interest by post, fax or email ([email protected]) on or before 1100hrs of 23rd September 2020, Wednesday.
The interested parties shall be a registered seaplane/tour/resort operator. The bid submitting parties shall furnish a Bid Security of USD 10,000 (or it is equivalent in MVR) in accordance, for each proposing location.
An optional site visit will be held on 1100hrs of 28th September 2020, Monday, at VIA for the Registered Parties.
Bids in compliance with the details and requirements stated in the Tender Document shall be submitted in envelopes and shall be delivered to the address in the Tender Document on or before 1100hrs of 11th October 2020, Sunday. Late bids will be rejected.
The bid from each bidder will be opened at sharp 1100hrs on 11th October 2020, Sunday, in MACL Corporate Office Building at VIA, in the presence of bidders or their authorized representatives who choose to attend.
Evaluation of the bids will be performed after which MACL will deliberate and finalize the award.
The seaplane terminal project costs USD 40 million and is set to double the size of the existing terminal. It was revealed that the water aerodrome of the new terminal will initially have the capacity to accommodate 55 seaplanes at a time, but can be expanded to accommodate 100. Passenger facilities at the new terminal will include a spacious arrival lobby, VIP lounges and restaurants.
