The Criminal Court on Monday added 15 days to the remand of a suspect arrested the day before in connection to the murder of Mohamed Anas in late July.

According to Police, Afrah Abdul Razzaq, 21, was found hiding in a house near Jalaluddin Mosque in capital Male.

The court decided to remand him for 15 days during his remand hearing on Monday.

Afrah is one of two suspects Police had been searching for over Anas’ murder. The other suspect, Mohamed Saaz, 21, of Thaa atoll Kinbidhoo island, was arrested late last month.

Four suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime, including the prime suspects who were physically involved in the killing, according to Police. The investigation is almost at an end.

Mohamed Anas, of Raa atoll Meedhoo island, was found with 37 stab wounds in Litus Service Centre on July 31. He was a captain of a speedboat operated in Raa atoll.
