Commander of the goodwill fleet of China’s People Liberation Army, Rear Admiral Shen Hao has paid a courtesy call on Vice President Abdulla Jihad, this morning, at the President’s Office.
At the call, the Vice President expressed his sincere gratitude for the generous contributions and support extended by the Government of China for the development of the Maldives. The Vice President also highlighted the 45 years of excellent relations between the two countries and expressed his confidence in enhancing the relations to new heights in the coming years.
The Commander expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome extended to the delegation and the crew of the fleet, and expressed the importance given by the President of China, His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, to further consolidate the friendly relations existing between the two countries.
Furthermore, the Vice President and the Commander discussed on exploring avenues of further cooperation with the aim to strengthen the relations between the two countries.
The Vice President was accompanied at the meeting by Secretary, Bilateral at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Ahmed Khaleel and the Under Secretary at the President’s Office, Uz. Fayyaz Shathir.
Rear Admiral Shen Hao was accompanied by the new Ambassador of China to Maldives His Excellency Mr. Zhang Lizhong.
