This large beachfront villa is the biggest private residence at the well-regarded Soneva Fushi Resort in the Maldives. The home is known within the resort as both Villa 11 and the Private Reserve.
“The Private Reserve has nine bedrooms and is like a resort within a resort,” said Marco Bonini, director of private residences for Soneva. “There are plenty of open spaces for dining and entertaining.”
“It is possibly the largest villa in a hotel in the Indian Ocean,” he said.
The buyer is likely to be a large family or someone who likes to travel with a large group of friends, Mr. Bonini said. “There is lots of space and privacy between each room.”
Most buyers put their villas into the resort’s rental program when they are not in residence, he said.
Eva and Sonu Shivdasani created the Soneva Fushi resort on the large deserted island of Kunfunadhoo in the Maldives in 1995. Villa 11 was built in 2013 and refurbished in 2015.
Deluxe features of the villa, which is built with sustainable materials, include generous open-air terraces and a large lagoon-style swimming pool with a sunken dining area and its own private waterslide.
Located on the sunrise side of the island, near Dolphin Beach, the property offers views over the Indian Ocean and direct access onto a secluded section of the white sand beach.
The spacious and detached master bedroom has an en-suite open-air garden bathroom. It is quite private and even has its own separate small swimming pool (the second in the home).
The Private Reserve also includes five guest bedrooms, a children’s bedroom, a nanny’s room and a Mr. and Mrs. Friday’s (or butler’s) bedroom.
Common rooms include a large TV lounge, kitchen, living room and study, bar and dining area, and a guest lounge.
