The official function celebrating this year’s Republic Day has been rescheduled for the evening of 11th November 2017, Saturday. Previously this celebration was scheduled for 16th November 2017, to be held as a combined function celebrating this year’s Republic Day and National Day.
The Maldives’ Republic Day is marked on the 11th of November, and the National Day on the 1st of Rabee’ul A’wwal. This year’s National Day coincides with 19th November.
The annual National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition will be conferred at the Republic Day function.
In addition, the President’s Medal will be conferred to individuals who have committed the Quran in its entirety to memory, and to students placed in the world top ten in the IGCSE & GCE O’level examinations, and for the students who were placed in the world top ten in the A’level examinations.
