President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a message of sympathy to the President of Mexico, His Excellency Enrique Peña Nieto, following the earthquake that hit Mexico.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“I was deeply saddened to learn the news of the devastating earthquake that struck central Mexico, causing loss of lives, injury to many and extensive damage to property and infrastructure.”
“At this time of national distress, the Government and the people of Maldives, join me in conveying our profound sympathy to Your Excellency, the Government and the people of Mexico. I wish every success in the rescue and recovery efforts of those who are directly affected by this tragedy.”
“Please also convey our sincere condolences to the members of the bereaved families.”
