Air Seychelles Begins Johannesburg-Maldives Direct Flights

Welcome to Maldives, Air Seychelles! The airline has begun operations from Johannesburg, South Africa to Male’, the Maldives with its first scheduled flight that arrived at Velana International Airport on 5th December 2020.

The flights are scheduled every Friday night from Johannesburg for 6 weeks, providing travellers with the opportunity to plan their holidays in advance for the upcoming festive season.

The flight will make an intermediate brief stop in Seychelles before continuing to Velana International Airport in Male (MLE), Maldives. The returning flight is set to be operated every Saturday, allowing travellers a full week holiday in the Maldives with a total flying time of fewer than 9 hours.

Due to the unprecedented events surrounding the COVID – 19 pandemic, Air Seychelles has extended its waiver policy to provide travellers more flexibility and peace of mind if they choose to rebook and fly at a later time. As part of the policy, travellers holding tickets issued any time until 31 December 2020, can now benefit from unlimited date changes with no penalty fee.

The Maldives reopened borders to all nationalities from 15th July 2020. All visitors are granted a 30-day free on-arrival visa with a confirmed booking for a stay at any registered tourist facility in the country.
