Military ship from India is scheduled to repatriate 700 Indian nationals stranded in the Maldives due to lockdown measures, stated Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Communication Director of Ministry of Affairs, Mohamed Miuwan said a military ship from India is scheduled to come to the Maldives on 1st June.
He also added that 700 Indian nationals are set to travel back to India on the ship.
The Indian government said that with the help of Indian High Commission’s in the Maldives and Sri Lanka, they are currently preparing a list of people to be repatriated from the Maldives. Indian government assured that they will provide all necessary requirements of passengers during the journey.
Under the ‘Operation Samudra Setu’ by the Indian government, 1488 Indians stranded in the Maldives have been repatriated so far.
