The Gender Ministry has announced 7 winners of this year’s Rehendhi Award.
Since 2014, the Rehendhi Award has been annually bestowed by the Ministry to give recognition to women for their commendable services to national and community development.
Of the recipients this year, 2 were awarded for outstanding services in the social sector, while the remaining 5were awarded for outstanding services in their respective fields.
The winners of this year’s Rehendhi Award are as follows:
- Fathimath Ibrahim, Kaanimaage, Lh. Hinnavaru (social services)
- Maryam Shunana, H. Velasfaruge, Male’ (social services)
- Aminath Ameena, Handhuvareege, L. Kunahandhoo (for outstanding services in respective field)
- Shifza Mustafa, Aasaanu, G. Fuvahmulah (for outstanding services in respective field)
- Aishath Hussain Manik, H. Reendhookokaage, Male’ (for outstanding services in respective field)
- Hawwa Latheef, Hulhumale’ flat 10-3-01 (for outstanding services in respective field)
- Minha Faiz Rashad, Hulhumale’ flat 99-1-02 (for outstanding services in respective field)
The Rehendhi Award is typically conferred on Women’s Day but was postponed this year due to the COVID-19 situation.
