An Art Festival organised by Housing Development Corporation (HDC) was held on Friday and Saturday at the Central Park in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale.
The festival aimed to provide artists with a platform to showcase their talents and sell some of their products.
According to HDC’s planning director Ismail Shan Rasheed, the festival was held in collaboration with the Maldivian Artists Community.
Even though the main festivities had taken place at the Central Park, activities were also carried out in four different locations in Hulhumale, Rasheed said.
He added that the Art Festival will accommodate the Instagram-generation and provide many social media worthy photo opportunities for visitors.
Many local musicians also performed at the festival, and popular local brands known for their handcrafted items had stalls in this year’s Art Festival.
This is the second such festival organised by HDC. Last year, it hosted a 3D street art festival.
