Maldives dismisses head of Aasandha Company

Managing director of Aasandha Company, Hassan Ali, has been dismissed from his post.

President of the Privatization Board, Mohamed Nizar, confirmed on Tuesday that Hassasn Ali has been relieved of his position as the managing director of Aasandha Company, which provides the universal healthcare insurance scheme of the Maldives.

The board has since requested the President’s Office to appoint a replacement.

Hassan Ali was appointed the MD of Aasandha Company on May 25, following the dismissal of his predecessor, Maumoon Abdul Samad.

Hassan Ali had also served as the controller of Immigration, the registrar of the High Court and the deputy minister of Housing and Infrastructure.
