The local quarantine period has been shortened from 14 days to 10 days by the Government of Maldives.
Discussions regarding the matter took place last night at the weekly meeting held with the health industry committee. The meeting which takes place every Monday was attended by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
Minister of Tourism, Abdulla Mausoom who sits in the council relayed this news on Twitter and expressed his confidence in the safe tourism model of Maldives.
However, this decision has not been publicly announced or confirmed by the Health Protection Agency of Maldives (HPA).
Currently, there are 1027 active cases in the Maldives with over 11,968 recoveries. As of 1st December 2020, there have been 38 new cases.
