Maldives Immigration has granted clearance to 701 expatriates to return to their native country.
Immigration has stated that clearance granted expatriates are from Italy, Indonesia, and Thailand.
In addition to that, they were sent back to their country via evacuation flights from Italy, Indonesia, and the Philippines on the 24th and 25th of April.
Amidst the spread of COVID-19, Maldives has closed its borders and many expatriates are unable to return to their country. The government is working repatriation of workers who wish to return to their native country.
