A fire broke out at a dive centre in Rasdhoo, Alif Alif atoll, causing over MVR 1.5 million of damages.
According to an employee of “Diving Scuba”, the fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday morning.
The shop, and all their equipment were destroyed beyond use, he added.
“We don’t know what caused the fire. There was no indication, no noises or anything before the fire.”
The dive centre opened last December and takes about eight to ten tourists on fives every day.
However, the employee did reveal that the shop was fully insured.
