The Raffles Maldives Meradhoo Blends Colonial Traditions with Modernism

The Raffles Maldives Meradhoo has debuted on the immaculate sanctuary of Gaafu Alifu Atoll division of the Maldives. Crafted by Blink Design Group, the 38-villa resort pairs a distinctive style sensibility with the colonial design heritage of the island.Details like monsoon blinds, louvred doors and windows wearing a signature blue-grey tone accent the variety of both custom-made and imported furniture abound. The interiors of the villas aim to evoke residential qualities with super king beds crowned by white canopies atop the dark wood platforms, while the bathrooms are equipped with double vanities and an outdoor shower, typical of island life.

The lounge areas of the Raffles Spa are endowed with handcrafted rattan seating birch tables offsetting a coral motif beneath the white bamboo ceiling. Each conveying distinctive features, the boutique luxury concept offers five F&B concepts: The all-day restaurant Thari wears a refined style punctuated by dark rattan seating and whitewashed teak tables, while the Nikkei eatery Yuzu layers patterned flooring with whitewashed wood blended with notes of coral, and yellow. Adjacent to Yuzu on the terrace overlooking the onsite lagoon is the cocktail concept, Yapa. The dining options are rounded out with the Long Bar and the beachside spot Firepit.
