Sto and Prisons advanced to the Quarter on penalties

Customs RC held prolific STO on the nerve but was unfortunate to lose on penalties. Their goalkeeper had a night to remember, thwarting STO on many occasions.

STO dominated the game and created more chances. However, Customs gave a hard time on counter-attacks. The first half of the match ended goalless, as STO could not do enough to penetrate the wall, the goalkeeper Ibrahim Waheed (Sego), of Customs.

STO took the lead just after the restart on the 22nd minute of the game. Customs equalized on a counterattack when Mumthaz Abdul Rasheed gained possession on the centre half. He ran all the way through to place the ball to the far corner, just a minute from the final whistle.

Ismail Easa (Messi) of STO only succeeded in converting in the penalty shootout, whereas Mohamed Imran (Immi) missed their first penalty. Hassan Noorish and Hassan Imran of Customs failed to hit the target for Customs, and the STO goalkeeper Abdulla Nasih saved Ahmed Abdulla’s penalty, to take STO to the Quarterfinals.

On the other hand, there was high anticipation in the clash between HDC and Prisons Club, when they drew 1-1. HDC took the lead with a goal from their star player Mohamed Sujan Ahmed in the second half. Jailam Jameel then responded well five minutes later, by equalizing for Prisons.

Prison Club converted all six penalties, and their goalkeeper saved one to decide the match.
