State-run Indira Gandhi Memorial Hospital (IGMH) has put its entire workforce of doctors on duty, temporarily cancelling all vacations amidst the epidemic of swine flu in the Maldives.

IGMH’s Director of Medical Services Dr Ali Nazeem said in a memo that all doctors are to resume duty Wednesday onwards until the end of this month. The memo added that doctors will receive one day off per week until further notice, explaining that this decision was in connection with the current uncontrolled spread of various flus, including the swine flu, in the Maldives.
