Sea snake discovered near Makunudhoo

A venomous sea snake has been discovered near Haa Dhaalu Makunidhoo.

President of the Makunudhoo Island Council, Hussain Samee told Sun Media that the yellow-bellied sea snake of about 18 inches was found and caught yesterday near the island.

And the snake is now in a fish tank in the ownership of the person who caught it.

The yellow-bellied sea snake is a common snake in the ocean and rivers, however, it is not a type of sea snake in the Maldivian region.
