Supreme Court has instructed that all letters and documents sent to the court need to be addressed to the Chief Justice.
The Supreme Court issued the instructions in a circular it released last Monday night.
The court said all letters and documents sent to the court from July 2 need to be addressed to the Chief Justice.
Addressing letters and documents sent to the Supreme Court to the Chief Justice is normal practice, which was temporarily changed following the suspension of former Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed. The court, at the time, instructed that all letters and documents be addressed to Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef until informed otherwise.
Former Chief Justice Abdulla Saeed lost his seat when he the was found guilty of a criminal offence. He has been replaced by Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi, who was appointed the new Chief Justice on June 28, 2018.
