Nepal crashed out of Saff Championship after losing 3-0 against the Maldives in Dhaka on Wednesday.
Akram Abdul Ghanee scored once and Ibrahim Waheed scored twice to put the Maldives into the final.
Ghanee scored in the ninth minute of the game when his free-kick sailed directly into the net. The game was briefly stopped after 27 minutes on the clock due to a thunderstorm.
Upon resumption of the game, Nepal boasted a huge possession with the ball but lacked the finishing touch in front of the opposition goal.
Waheed made the most of a defensive mistake to score his first in the 83rd minute. Three minutes later, he scored another goal after the ball was not properly dealt by Nepali defenders.
The Maldives will now play the winner of the match between arch-rivals India and Pakistan.
