MANILA, Philippines — The remains of the Filipino couple who drowned while on honeymoon in the Maldives are set to arrive in the country on Saturday afternoon.
In a text message, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said the remains of Leomer Lagradilla and his wife Erica Joyce will be arriving at 3:30 p.m. onboard an Etihad flight.

The bodies of the couple were first brought to Sri Lanka to be embalmed before being flown to the Philippines.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has promised to shoulder the repatriation of the remains of the couple.
