President sends letter of concern to the Supreme Court of the Maldives – Press Releases


By the power granted to the President under Articles 115 of the Maldives’ Constitution, President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has sent a letter to the Maldives’ Supreme Court, raising concerns about the rights of the employees of the State that may be violated as a result of the implementation of the Supreme Court’s orders issued on 1 February 2018.

The Minister of Legal Affairs at the President’s Office, Uza. Aishath Azima Shakoor briefed the media today, about the details of the President’s letter to the Supreme Court. She noted that in the letter the President has urged the Supreme Court judges not to overstep the rights of the other institutions and employees of the State.
