Police on Thursday again raided the headquarters of main opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).
Police have raided the centre twice previously under a court order over suspicion of plans to compromise the esteem of honorary high-level delegations visiting the Maldives, naming King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia who is scheduled to arrive on Saturday.
During the last raid, Police had seized rolls of yellow cloth and banners protesting the alleged selling of Faafu atoll to the Saudi royal family.
The centre had later hung a banner outside calling for people to sign a petition against the selling of Faafu atoll. However, the reason for the third raid is yet unknown. Police have blocked off the road leading to MDP’s main centre.
