Maldives Police Service, on Thursday, launched an investigation into the sexual harassment of a tourist in Thoddoo, Alif Alif Atoll.
A police spokesperson revealed that the incident was reported in the early hours of Wednesday but declined to give further information at present as the investigation is currently ongoing.
Thoddoo Island Council also confirmed that a harassment case involving a tourist is currently being investigated.
The police have previously disclosed a number of reports concerning harassment faced by tourists in some islands across the Maldives.
