Police arrest three people during raids in Maldives capital

Police raided three places in Machangolhi ward of capital Male and arrested three people late Monday.

The officers raided and inspected the houses of Kinara and Namoona, and an office building in the ward under a court order. The three people were arrested from Kinara House and the office.

Police Special Operations (SO) unit officers were also seen by the cemetery in Machangolhi during the raids.

Police stated that they would question people, inspect places and take samples during this operation. The reason behind the raids remain unclear.
