The Prosecutor General’s Office (PG Office) said Thursday that a decision has not been made regarding the case forwarded by Maldives Police Service against Jumhoory Party (JP)’s leader Qasim Ibrahim over bribing lawmakers.

Lawmaker of Maamigili Constituency Qasim is accused of bribery for promising additional allowances to all lawmakers that voted in favour of the no confidence motion sought against Parliament Speaker Abdulla Maseeh in late March.

Qasim had claimed at an opposition rally late Wednesday that his case has been sent to the Criminal Court. However, an official of the PG Office confirmed that the case has not yet been forwarded to court and is still being reviewed.
