The Parliament administration on Tuesday threw out the motion of no confidence submitted against Attorney General Mohamed Anil.

The motion was filed by the opposition last Thursday with the signatures of 24 lawmakers. The Parliament administration explained in a message to the lawmakers that it was thrown out as the resolution cannot be submitted under Subject 82 of the Constitution.

However, Subject 82 of the Constitution concerns the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of Parliament including their election and removal.
