Pakistan, Maldives reaffirm unequivocal, uncompromising position against terrorism

MALE: President Abdullah Yameen bade farewell to the Prime Minister at Male International airport.
During the visit, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif held wide-ranging talks with the President of Maldives for boosting bilateral relations in diverse fields and attended Independence Day celebrations of the friendly country as chief guest.
Meanwhile, a joint communique issued at the conclusion of three day official visit of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to Male, says both the sides agreed to further promote bilateral cooperation through the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation.
The two leaders also agreed to enhance trade relations between the two countries.
Both leaders welcomed the establishment of the Maldives – Pakistan Joint Business Council and Joint Working Group on Trade.
The two leaders agreed to work together to address the adverse impacts of climate change.
They also reaffirmed their unequivocal and uncompromising position against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. President Yameen appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in combatting terrorism and violent extremism.
During the visit of the prime minister, a number of MOUs and Agreements were signed to enhance cooperation in diverse fields.
