Ooredoo Maldives launches World Cup campaign

Ooredoo World Cup Foari has launched “Ooredoo World Cup Foari”, a campaign marking the 2018 FIFA World Cup men’s football tournament in Russia. Ooredoo World Cup Foari provides offers that enable customers to watch the world cup from wherever they are, as well as competitions and local community events.

Ooredoo has launched a special mobile streaming package letting customers view the entire World Cup from wherever they are for MVR 195, with no additional data charges on its nationwide 4G+ network. This service will be available from the first day of the FIFA World Cup 2018, on 14 June.

Customers can play FIFA World Cup Fantasy and join Ooredoo’s custom league with code YOB4GGV3. The player that is at the top of the league by the end of the World Cup will win a brand new iPhone X. Ooredoo will also run a Twitter contest, asking fans to predict the outcome of the matches. One lucky fan with a correct prediction will receive 5 GB of data.

Dhen Vaanee Kihinei is another exciting contest with prizes for football fans during the World Cup season, in partnership with PSM. The competition will be aired on the World Cup Show on TVM and asks participants to predict what happens next upon seeing an incomplete video from past world cups.

This football season, Ooredoo has partnered with major cafes and restaurants across the nation to show coverage throughout the Maldives. Ooredoo’s FIFA World Cup wall charts will be available from Ooredoo Experience Centres, too.

Ooredoo has also launched Varah Thafaathu Facebook Profile Picture Frames in celebration of the World Cup, which allows fans to show their support for favourite teams.
