In a directive published in the Government Gazette today, the National Awards Committee has opened nominations for the National Award of Honour.
Similar to the last year’s National Awards, special importance will be given to categories created for women and youth in line with the Administration’s pledge to encourage further empowerment, and opportunity, for skilled individuals in different sectors. Within these categories, Awards will be presented to youth aged 18 to 35 years and women who have, for 5 to 7 years, made invaluable national contributions.
Similar to previous years, Government offices, independent institutions, companies, associations, and individuals can propose nominations for the Awards through appropriate government agencies, and by submitting the designated nomination forms.
The National Awards Committee is to conduct information sessions regarding the National Awards for the local press.
The deadline for submitting the completed nominations forms is 15th August 2017 and should be addressed to the respective Committee. The nomination forms for are available from the President’s Office during official work hours and can be downloaded via www.presidencymaldives.gov.mv
Recipients of the National Award will be honoured at the official function to be held to mark the Republic Day.
Nominations for the Special Achievement Award will open during the first week of July.
