Maldives National University (MNU) opens up the opportunity to obtain PhD in Dhivehi Language.
The university stated that the opportunity to study PhD in Applied Linguistics or Dhivehi Language has been opened and students can apply till the end of the month along with a statement of intent or a proposal.
7 optional modules for the Ph.D. are offered by the university including The development and adaptation of the native language on children, the development and learning of a second language, the use of languages in a multilingual community, management of language techniques, the level of language, Dhivehi language structure and reading and writing with multimodal texts analysis.
The seats available for the 3-year course will be decided based on the proposals of the candidates. the candidates must have an MNQF level 7 and level 9 in Dhivehi or relevant field or should have a level 8 first class degree in order to qualify for the course. Moreover, MNU will mostly prefer candidates with experience.
MNU had previously run the PhD program for Dhivehi while the new course is differentiated where students will be able to submit their thesis and other documents in Dhivehi language.
