With an upsurge in income from various taxes and fees, Maldives Inland Revenue Authority (MIRA) recorded a revenue of MVR 1.1 billion in April this year.
According to MIRA, revenue increased from Goods and Services Tax (GST), Tourism Land Lease, Airport Service Charge, Remittance Tax, Withholding Tax, land sales and land lease for tourism development in April, resulting in a spike of MVR 26.5 percent in revenue. The record is also higher than the projected estimate of 10.4 percent.
MIRA’s revenue for the month of April in 2016 was MVR 890.1 million.
