Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) revealed that a training programme will be held in Gan, Addu Atoll, where MNDF’s Southern Command is established.
The operation is scheduled to run from June 19 till 23, and commence at 0600 hrs and conclude at 1800 hrs daily.
During the training, weapons and pyrotechnic machine gun firing exercises will be conducted within a range of up to 5000 metres horizontally, and a vertical range of 100 meters from sea level into the air. Marine exercises will also take place six nautical miles south of Gan.
Authorities have advised vessels in the area to exercise caution when travelling, due to the use of weapons in the operation.
