Vice Chairman of ruling Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM), MP Abdul Raheem Abdulla declared that in addition to the infrastructural development of the country, much of the progress brought about by the current government is “unseen”.
While speaking at a press conference held by PPM, he said that in addition to the landmark bridge and new 25-storey state hospital under construction, this government has brought several developments to the country, including some which cannot be seen.
He noted that during the period that Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) had governed, it was hard for the opposition members to go out into the public without security. However in the current government, everyone can breathe freely, said Abdul Raheem.
He further stated that the people have accepted these developments by the government and no longer want to take part in the rallies held by the opposition.
