The popular international seafood restaurant brand, ‘The Manhattan Fish Market” officially unveiled its branch in reclaimed suburb Hulhumale late Wednesday.
The restaurant, established in the top two floors of Centro Mall, was inaugurated by the Managing Director of Housing Development Corporation (HDC), Mohamed Saiman.
Speaking at the inauguration, MD Saiman said that the establishment of a popular restaurant franchise in Hulhumale indicates the hasty development and progress of the reclaimed island.
He declared that the development projects in Hulhumale are reaping success and benefit, highlighting that the suburb’s commercial and industrial spaces are also being expanded.
According to Saiman, 70,000 square feet in Hulhumale have been allocated for business and commercial use to date. He added that around 100 tourists stay in Hulhumale per night.
“This proves that more job opportunities are being provided in Hulhumale and that the citizens are being provided with the development they need,” said Saiman.
The Manhattan Fish Market in Hulhumale is the franchise’s 73rd international branch. The world famous brand was founded in 1822.
