Maldivian arrested in Thailand with 800 grams of heroin

A Maldivian has been arrested with drugs at an airport in Thailand.

Media outlets in Thailand have reported that a 3-year-old Maldivian named Adam Zareer, was arrested after 800 grams of heroin was found in his backpack at the Don Muang Airport.

While the suspect has been arrested by the Drug Suppression Police, he is believed to be in transit from Malaysia going to Sri Lanka. He has been charged with possession of Class 1 drugs with intent to sell and exporting drugs out of the country.

The police are expanding their inquiry in relation to the matter.

Congratulations on becoming the biggest junkies in South Asia. Last month three Maldivian drug addicts were arrested in India and now another addict has been arrested in Thailand. Why is it that you mallus take your toxic drug culture wherever you go? As all flights originating in Columbia are suspected to be carrying drugs and addicts, the same rule should be applied to flights originating in Maldives.
