In a notice, the Ministry of Tourism announced that the islands of Kagi in Kaafu atoll, and Bodukaashihura and Lonubui in Alif Dhaal atoll will be sold for the following prices:
- Kagi (2.5 hectares) – USD 2.1 million

Following the amendment to the Tourism Act last year which authorises the government to sell off islands without bid for resort development, the Tourism Ministry had previously decided to sell 14 islands and two lagoons as well.
